The talented (and ludicrously prolific) Ellie Marney tagged me in a meme that’s doing the rounds of the interwebz at the moment. The idea is to post up seven lines from page seven (or seventy-seven) of your current work-in-progress.

So without further ado, here are the last seven lines of page seven of my current WIP…


Then the breath was knocked from her lungs as she hit the wall. Her nails scraped at the blank surface. There was no ledge, no handhold.

For a moment she hung suspended against the wall. She saw sunlight gleaming on a lone seagull, lost amid the boiling clouds. The burning in her arms was miles away. Then the hand of gravity clenched around the base of her spine.

Persephone fell.
